Gordon Hunt - Artist
I am a full time artist, working from my studio here in Fowey. Cornwall is a great source of inspiration, with its turquoise waters, rocky cliffs and amazing beaches. I am particularly interested in the light effects of sunshine on water, giving sparkling reflections and silhouettes, resulting in strong contrasting colours and dynamic shapes. Flashes of contrasting colours resonate through the pictures, when placed together this contrast generates visual energy and excitement. I concentrate on painting the light around the object, I feel the ‘light’ then becomes the subject of the painting, I have a real sense of ‘painting the light’ when creating these works.

My work has become very popular, it evokes a real feeling of sunshine, holidays and well being. My work sells through several galleries around the UK and world-wide through on-line Galleries. I have also exhibited in New York and Hong Kong and in recent years had work accepted for the prestigious Royal Society Marine Artists Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London.

Do you have an interest in pottery and ceramics? Book yourself in for a fun pottery workshop - even have a go at throwing on the wheel. No matter what your skill level, (or lack of) Heather can provide tuition to suit your needs - have fun creating with clay.

Paint your own pottery. Pottery painting can be booked in the Studio, we have a wide range of items to choose from to paint. All the family can participate. Pottery painting parties also available. Great for children’s parties in your own home, no mess, no fuss, Heather will bring everything needed for this creatively fun activity and the children will have a great time, pots will be returned glazed in a couple of days.
